Small knowledge and big knowledge丨COD standard sample configuration tutorial

Configuring standard samples is something that needs to be done frequently during experiments. Taking the experiment related to testing water quality indicators as an example, configuring standard samples, by comparing the measured value with the reference value of the standard sample, one can determine whether the error of the testing instrument is within the specified range, and the other can verify whether the measurement method of the experimenter is correct. Therefore, configuring standard samples is of great significance to the reliability of the experiment.
The following will introduce the configuration process of COD standard samples, come and take a look.
The first step is to prepare Lianhua Technology’s COD special consumables-potassium hydrogen phthalate (HOOCC6H4COOK), distilled water, beaker, stirring rod, 1000mL volumetric flask before configuration.
The second step is to take a small amount of potassium hydrogen phthalate (HOOCC6H4COOK) and dry it at 105℃ for 2 hours, and take it out after cooling.
The third step is to accurately weigh 0.4251g of dried potassium hydrogen phthalate (HOOCC6H4COOK) and put it into a beaker, add a little distilled water, stir until completely dissolved, and transfer to a volumetric flask (the beaker can be rinsed three times with distilled water, and the rinse solution is also added to the volumetric flask), and finally dilute to 1000mL.
Now, the 500mg/L COD standard sample is ready. The prepared standard sample can be used to test and calibrate instruments, and the shelf life is generally 3 months.
The above is the configuration method of COD standard sample in this issue. Follow me to learn more experimental knowledge!
